The Doc Is Dead

The Good Doctor died last night. About six years ago a friend of mine handed me a copy of Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas and I haven't been able to stop reading Thompson's work since then. He inspired me to read, write and live life to the fullest.
That is all for tonight.

I was sorry to hear about Hunter's suicide, even though I was not surprised. All that madness and lonliness caught up with him, and with his best work behind him, it was just too hard to go on. By the way, find a copy of "the Great Shark Hunt",a compendium which includes his earlier stuff, which shows what we have really lost. Had he chosen a different direction, he might not have been so famous, but he'd have lasted a lot longer, and maybe been happier, too. Who knows? History never reveals it alternatives. We'll never know what might have been. Good night, sweet Prince. Thanks for sharing.
